Born and raised in Victoria, Shawn first discovered his love for construction while completing the carpentry program at Victoria High School in 1997. He began his career in interior remodelling, in 2020 Shawn teamed up with a local company to build dozens of single family homes and duplexes throughout the region.

In 2024 he launched New Byld Developments to take that experience and build something of his own. As a licensed residential builder, Shawn leads every project personally, ensuring clear communication, solid craftsmanship, and respect for each client’s vision.

Shawn believes in staying connected to the community he builds in. For the past ten years he has been part of the Quadra Cedar Hill Community Association. Over the last five years he has worked with Saanich to organize the annual Music in the Park event at Rutledge Park.

New Byld is a reflection of that same commitment: local, dependable, and built with pride.

  • Currently we are working on this beautiful lake front home on Cowichan Lake. This 5700 sq ft home allows for very comfortable living with 5 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms, complete with an outdoor shower. While we are nearly done the initial build, there will be plenty of work in the spring to get hardscape and landscape ready for the client to enjoy this new home next summer.
